Aldactone Tablet is used for the treatment of hyperaldosteronism (low potassium levels in the blood). It is also used to improve potassium levels in patients with hyperaldosteronism (high potassium levels in the blood).
Aldactone Tablet should be used for the following:
BENEFITS OF ALDACTONE TABLET In comparison to other antihypertensive drugs, it has a fewer side effects. Among other things, it has shown a better lipid profile, which makes it a useful tool for the prevention and treatment of hyperaldosteronism.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Aldactone Tablet is to be taken with food.
The dosage is 1 tablet a day. The starting dose is one tablet a day. The other doses may be higher (depending on the condition).
Take it regularly to get the most benefits. To achieve the best results, continue with the recommended dose and duration as advised. To prevent signs of side effects, take it usually once or twice a day, depending on the condition.
Do not change your dosage unless your doctor tells you to.
Do not use it in medications that are easy to take, such as calcium antagonists (e.g. antacids) or iron supplements.
In cases of renal insufficiency, take it at the same time daily. The duration of treatment depends on the reason for the insufficiency and on the patient's condition. Continue taking it even if you feel better. You may need to change the duration depending on the reason for the insufficiency.

Aldactone is a potassium-sparing diuretic that acts primarily by inhibiting the absorption of water and salt in the kidneys. It is not indicated for patients with severe electrolyte abnormalities (such as low levels of potassium in the blood, or a family history of low potassium levels in the blood).
